Will was educated by his mother and father. Will was fortunate as his father was more qualified than most to teach, learning what could be considered a classical education with an emphasis on history, mathematics, and music.

Will was married to a woman named Mermeyí Cambell, a distant Romani cousin who came to be fostered and educated with his parents several years earlier. They had a son in Suffolk, a son and a daughter later while living in Philadelphia PA.

Will organized his cousins, and lead a restoration movement started by his father in Philadephia, and became the first Director of of the DeLancey Foundation. Using the funds of the family trust, he created a lasting legacy as was the intention of his forebearers. He also funded the Badi clan migration to Vega IX.

William DeLancey III, his wife Mermeyí, and daughter Ellen were killed along with 12 others when their compartment onboard the ECS Hieronymus was struck, and holed by a meteor causing a complete and sudden loss of cabin pressure. The log reported the incident on October 27, 2127, still more than a year out of the Vega system.

A memorial stood on Vega IX, commemorating his leadership, and mourning his loss.
