The USS James Cook (NCC-97106) is an Aquarius-class escort in service of the 22nd Mobile Daedalus. It was launched on February 14th, 2415 and is the tenth Aquarius-class ship ever built. The Jasmes Cook serves as the primary auxillery craft to Rear Admiral Donaldson's Flagship, the U.S.S. Endeavour (Ncc-97004. Just like the Endeavour, the James Cook operates under a standard three Duty Shift rotation while undocked, Alpha-Shift (08:00 - 16:00), Beta-Shift (16:00 - 00:00), Gamma-Shift (00:00 - 08:00).
The James Cook has a dedicated skeleton crew that live and work aboard the vessel even when docked. When undocked, these numbers are suplimented with crew from the Endeavour.

Ship's seal[]
The design of Cook's seal is a variant of the official Aquarius-class Development Project emblem. The seal was officialy presented to the 22nd Mobile by the San Francisco Fleet Yards workcrew that built the vessel.
Naming[]
The James Cook is the first Federation starship to bear the name. It was named in honor of British explorer, Captain James Cook (7 November 1728 – 14 February 1779), who was a British explorer, navigator, cartographer, and captain in the Royal Navy. Cook made detailed maps of Newfoundland prior to making three voyages to the Pacific Ocean, during which he achieved the first recorded European contact with the eastern coastline of Australia and the Hawaiian Islands, and the first recorded circumnavigation of New Zealand..

In late 2416, both the Endeavour and the Cook were recalled to Starbase 386 for a scheduled systems upgrade. The Cook's weapons, shields, and propulsion systems were upgraded, as well as various other ship systems.
