U.S.S. Haven NCC-75459, a Galaxy Class Federation Starship in service beginning in the latter 24th century. The Haven is a dedicated Hospitaller refit, commanded by CPT Konal Dir of Betazed, a medical doctor and veteran of the Dominion War.
Mission[]
A Hospitaller is a combat-capable starship dedicated to transportation and care of refugees and the wounded, from combat or natural disaster. The choice to dedicate a Galaxy-class was a response to the many dangers discovered in the galaxy.
The Haven was fast-tracked, reassigning one of the space frames requiring complete reconstruction at Utopia Planitia shipyard, and was commissioned on November 11th 2377, dedicated with the quote "It's when we start working together that the real healing takes place... it's when we start spilling our sweat, and not our blood." - David Hume
Initially assigned to the third fleet, designated to emergency response in federation core systems.
In 2378, the Haven was part of the escort cadre assembled by Admiral Paris to defend the core systems against the Borg. The Haven crew provided fire support against the Borg sphere, and medical support for the Voyager crew which had arrived via the transwarp aperture
.In 2388, the Haven was part of the Federation response to the Hobus supernova. Relief efforts did not go smoothly, attempting to offer relief was met by suspicion and mistrust.
In 2390, the Haven begins a refit to include holo-emitters in all patient suites and upgrades computer capabilities to operate more than two scores of EMH programs at once.
In 2409 the Haven was one of the first responders to the attack on the Vega Colony disaster, successfully evacuating nearly ten thousand refugees.
In 2419 the Haven was recalled to Earth, in response to the Herald attack on Space Dock One. Haven arrived via transwarp gate to provide emergency services just hours after the initial attack. The Haven remained on station, docked with Space Dock One until Mar/2421.
In 2429 the Haven was called to the Artesia Gateway to provide relief and support for the 22nd which was pulled from the warzone for a mandatory standdown.
In 2432 the Haven was recalled to the Milky Way Galaxy for refit and humanitarian missions with the 3rd fleet.
In 2439 the Haven was transferred to the reserve fleet, also referred to as the "Mothball" fleet, rather than being completely decommissioned.
