CPT St’Vol of Vulcan, SERVICE NUMBER VS-120-1041-7
St’Vol is a stalwart and logical Vulcan male. He prides himself on his precision and tenacity as well as logic. He is known to perform this way in his science and his command. It is said that one must prove to St’Vol, not conjecture, if the expectation is action.
Biographical[]
St'Vol began his career studying as a villager in the province of Gol, to eventually win acceptance to the Vulcan Science Academy, though he was accepted at a later age than most. His tenacity drove him forward to the top 20% of his classes, and was asked to stay on after achieving accolades for his learning and thesis.
Eventually, he was given a position with the VHC, representing the VSA on the research vessel “Lodzhal”. There he distinguished himself well despite the extended length of the mission. He performed his duties acceptably and was advanced to the chief of sciences department.
Some years later, while on another mission still with the “Lodzhal”, the starship was called into service to defend Vulcan during the Dominion war. St’Vol was considered to be exceptional among the crew based upon his ability to apply his knowledge to the art of warfare. As a result, he was promoted, and made the first officer aboard.
After the Dominion war had come to a close, the High Command had shifted its focus, and there were a number of new classes of ships designed with greater capacities to defend Vulcan in the face of a changing galaxy. One of those was the “Delvok”, which while a very capable science vessel, did apply the military lessons learned during the war. St’Vol was offered the first officer position aboard, and accepted as part of the initial crew of the “Delvok”. Seven years later, 2391, St’Vol was given his first command position, as the Captain of the “Delvok”.
In 2417, as the situations were rapidly changing, science vessels were called to return closer to Vulcan, as was the exploration vessel “Delvok”. Many ships were lost later that year when called upon to defend Vulcan from a rogue Romulan attack. Among the Vulcan and Starfleet vessels that were destroyed were a number that were left too damaged to salvage. The “Delvok” was among the latter, having survived the battle, but with a superstructure too damaged to repair.
A political move to create a larger presence in Starfleet, as well as a reduced fleet belonging to the Vulcan High Command, resulted in St’Vol being suggested as a transfer from the VHC to Starfleet. This he logically accepted, as a representative of his world, despite nearing the time he believed he would step down from service.
St’Vol was then transferred to the USS Michael Faraday, and given command. His first action was to bring his former first officer Vorel of the Delvok on as his first officer, having him transfer his commission from the Vulcan High Command to Starfleet.
He is known to have a preference for working with people from his own world.
Family History[]
St’Vol claims residence in his ancestral family home in the small settlement of Xent’tal, Gol province of Vulcan. There he maintains a home with his second wife, T’Prinna, an instructor at the Vulcan Institute of Defensive Arts.
The S’kun’t family has a multigenerational dedication to the exploration and defense forces of Vulcan. Previous generations are written of for their part in wars of the past, though it is chosen by the family to keep their names private. St’Vol’s first wife T’Alieth and son S’Ivek were casualties of the Dominion war.
