A Specialist is one who has a focused knowledge in a particular field. Every branch of Starfleet has specialists, ranging from Warp Field Specialists, to Close Combat Specialists, to Medical Doctors specializing in one technique or another. Regardless of the field or area in which they specialize, all specialists are generally regarded as experts in whatever field they specialize.
