The SS Woodhull, a converted 2401 Argosy heavy freighter completely refit for personnel transport 2413. Though lumbering and ponderous are two descriptions for its flight characteristics, it is very solid in construction and reliable. 2425, a second refit was performed at the Titan Orbital Shipyards DFIG facility that took nearly 14 months to complete as the customer demanded full SFDR field protocol compliance.
- The main computer was upgraded to handle the load of a fully holographic medical staff.
- The suites were converted to operating theatres, and patient recovery suites.
- One of the secondary holds was converted into a series of isolation labs suitable for disease research.
- The main hold was converted to multi-use space suitable for gatherings or triage equally.
- Primary EPS grid was updated to accommodate additional load from new holoemitters and replicators.
- Secondary EPS grid was laid to ensure power distribution without outages.
- The main hold, as well as the patient rooms and offices were all outfitted with holoemitters to allow for holographic medical teams to move freely and provide services in this mobile hospital ship.
- Three new 6 person capacity Transporters were installed.
- One new heavy cargo Transporter installed.
- Additional redundant power generation systems and batteries installed.
When completed, the SS Woodhull was equivalent to a 400 bed hospital with class 1 Trauma Wards and Emergency Department. When grounded, expandable sections on both sides can allow for an addition 1000+ beds in a series of 4 expansive temporary facilities still served by the holographic aids.
The SS Woodhull medical facility is licensed as the end user of 250 concurrently operational HMS, full variation list on file. As well it is licensed for 500 concurrently operational HPN, and an additional 750 HNA. Additionally there are licensed 5 concurrent Holographic Personal Assistant instances, to allow for a single Administrator to maintain control over the data flow even if a mass casualty event should bring the hospital to capacity in rapid onset. An additional 100 service holos are also included in the license, to cover for any additional services required to keep the patients comfortable and any organic staff secure.
The SS Woodhull requires only a crew of 10 at any one time during operations, and when on the ground less than 1/3rd that number. Consumables storage in 3 secondary holds deemed sufficient to run at capacity for 3 months without resupply.
