CLASS DESCRIPTION[]
The Navigator-class was originally intended to replace the Galaxy and Sovereign-classes. The initial design incorporated design elements from various starships, including the Nomad and Emissary. Further, the Navigator-class pioneered the Slipstream technology initially planned to be installed on the Vesta-class. Despite the success of slipstream, the Navigator has not been produced in large numbers, and both the prototype and Independence have been recalled. The future of this class is uncertain.
