She is a member of the Rigby family, a very large Salt Lake City-based clan which has been involved in Starfleet since its inception. She has an older fraternal twin, Marlin Rigby.
She is the niece of Nurse Margaret Rigby of USS Pilgrim fame, as well as Ensign Richard Rigby from the USS Protector.

She is a petite young woman of about 5'6". Her shoulder-length hair is a shade of champagne blonde and she has bright blue eyes. She is conventionally attractive and often enhances that with tasteful makeup.
