Personal History[]
Originally born in Puerto Rico, Ramirez moved to California at the beginning of his High School years. After graduation, he joined Starfleet as a Security Officer.
From the beginning of his career, his record was rather bland, but superior officers noted an attention to detail often bordering on the excessive. This both helped and hindered Ramirez, as he would occasionally miss clues a more unconventional officer may have seen. Lacking almost any semblance of ambition, he seemed content to follow orders to the letter.
Counselors have also noted that Ramirez seems to focus on work a little too much. As a result, he rarely interacts with his crewmates outside of his duty shifts, and has very few friends. In recent years, others have attempted to pull him from his "shell", with limited success. His counselors have expressed their hope that the latest assignment to the Sentinel will further help his social development.
Instead, Ramirez latched onto a working relationship with the comparatively wild Erys Murai, who at the time was serving as the Sentinel's Chief Security Officer. When Erys obtained her own command, Ramirez requested and was granted a transfer to her ship. As a calming influence and the straight man in a solid command team, Ramirez followed Erys through every transfer until he was offered his own command in 2454.
