Character Biography[]
Maeve Tolena Blaine, also known by her Rihannsu name of Maev ir'Aera t'Blaine is a Human Romulan hybrid born to Captain Marcus Blaine and Commander Niaev i'Sahan t'Blaine on earth in Edinburgh, Scotland. She spent most of her childhood living on the USS Protector. Maeve uses her mothers old external name of Tolena in the human form of her name as a middle name. She is intelligence and driven but also rather irreverent and can be a bit of a trickster.
Appearance[]
Maeve has stunning blue eyes and dark brown hair she usually wears either pulled back in a ponytail or let out in full covering her ears. She has Small pointed ears displaying her Romulan heritage and very fait forehead ridges that are barely visible. She is 177 cms tall and weighs 57 KG under standard Earth gravity.
Family History[]
Maeve childhood was a lonely one as there were few other children on the Protector save Nanette who was a artifical entity that was there when she was still a young child. Nanette and Maeve would often get up to mischief as Nanette would alter herself to appear as Maeve's older sister. When Maeve was 8 however Nanette had to go to the Daystrom institute due to the on going sentient rights battle in the federation courts. It was unfortunately around this time that Maeve's mother Niaev started to exhibit growing symptoms related to a rare form of Temporal Aphasia caused by wounds suffered in the Dawn War of the 2420's.
When her mothers symptoms grew to the point of debilitating she was taken to the Magna Roma Medical Station in orbit above Roma where Maeve would stay with her while her father continued his duties as captain of the protector. Maeve was a ward of the Antonius household during this time growing close with Octavia. Unfortunately Niaev's condition was deemed not to be curable with the only treatment being long boughts in stasis followed by short times of consciousness. So Niaev decided to take what time she had left and see as much of the galaxy as she could returning Maeve to the Protector where she would eventually lose her mother before joining the academy.
Pre-Starfleet Schooling[]
Maeve started serving as an acting ensign on the Protector at age 14 mainly acting as a medical assistant to Dr Mehta who replaced her mother as CMO while attending classes remotely through the Starfleet subspace link, She also spent a lot of time in the science lab and due to her experience onboard Protector and her standout test scores specifically in the fields of mathematics and biological sciences, she was admitted to Starfleet academy for the Spring start of 2450.
Maeve also took quite an interest in music, learning Piano and singing from her mother at an early age and is considered a prodigy level with the piano.
Starfleet Academy Class of 2453 ( December Graduation)[]
Maeve attended Starfleet academy for her first year at the Starfleet Academy Annex on Andoria as it had an opening in the early Spring admission window where earth and Magna Roma did not have openings until that fall. Still mourning the loss of her mother Maev did not want to wait to get started and took the position. On andoria she was often mistaken for a vulcan which lead to a few heated arguments. After a year she transferred to Earth.
Maeve was a standout student in science and in math. She also learned Kzari while in the academy. Due to her prior service aboard the Protector she was able to skip enough classes and test out enough to earn a spot on an Honor Cadet cruise on board the USS Myrmidon patrolling the Kzari Sector of the LMC. This cruise was shorter than a normal cadet cruise allowing her to graduate early. After graduation she was assigned to the Orbital Temporal Laboratory at Ganymede to continue her research.

Maeve worked as a research assistant studying comparitive genetics and temporal incursion at the OTL for 5 months under Dr. Emmeritt Browning. Unfortunately her Sponsor and Mentor was quickly caught up in a scandal involving falsified results which not only derailed Maeve's own unassociated research but removed the department she worked in from the OTL. This caused her research dissertation which she had finally completed the practical research for to be on hold until such a time she can repeat the research and find new sources.
USS Stardancer(2454- Present)[]
Maeve was assigned to the new Rendino class USS Stardancer for her shakedown cruise.
Personal Possessions and Holdings[]
Leather bound journals: Maeve has her mothers leather bound journals which she has digitized and keeps a holocopy with her on board.
Antique Vinyl record collection: A vinyl collection of different music collected mostly while she was on Magna Roma. Mostly in the genre's of progressive rock and vinyl copies of contemporary harder music. She also has her mothers three albums as second hand acquired signed copies.
Holopiano: Maeve has a Holographic piano emitter she received as a gift from Dahlia Antonia Delancey on her 11th birthday.
Peanut Butter spoon (epic quality): Maeve has a latinum encrusted spoon designated the peanut butter spoon with that engraved on the handle. It was a gift from her father to her as a present for attending the academy.
Cabin in the Highlands: Maeve has a small cottage in the scottish highlands that is currently hers. It was purchased by Niaev for her and Marcus to retire to, but passed to Maeve. Maeve currently lends it to an older scottish couple to maintain.
