CLASS DESCRIPTION[]
Designed as a long-range scientific exploration cruiser, the Luna class built on the successful return of the USS Voyager. The long-term survival of Voyager in a hostile environment proved that ships could endure far more than Starfleet originally imagined.
Taking the improvements Voyager picked up and combining them with improvements of their own, the Starfleet Corps of Engineers came up with the Luna class. These ships were specifically designed for long range, long term voyages into completely uncharted territory. The first ship to be sent on such a mission was the USS Titan, commanded by Captain William T. Riker. Under his command, the Titan not only met, but also surpassed Starfleet's expectations, despite encountering numerous dangers along their mission. Several other ships were built, with the first several named after moons in the Sol system.

Variants[]
Luna[]
The original variant of the line, Luna is most known for the USS Titan, the first permanent command of then Captain William T. Riker. The Luna was part of a renewed push for long-range exploratory ships following the Dominion War, and was equipped extensively for scientific study and observation.
Polaris[]
Sol[]
Comet[]
Titan[]
One of many post-Klingon War designs, the Titan followed the original Luna's footsteps in renewed exploration. Featuring many of the wartime upgrades as well as scientific facilities, the Titan became a strong option for long-range missions.
Rendino[]
Named after the infamous Elizabeth Razzor, the Rendino class is the next logical step in iterative improvements for the Luna class line of ships. This iteration also introduces a coaxial drive that allows for near-instant travel across large distances.
