Lukas Ry Draganov, known as just Draganov to friends and colleagues, is a civilian engineer and owner operator or the SS Draganov operating in the Vega Star System, based on the Badi Transfer Station III in orbit of Vega IX.
Biography[]
Lukas Draganov is a survivor of the Borg Invasion of Vega in 2409. Captured and converted during the attack Lukas was a part of the collective until Starfleet managed to release him and many others in latter part of next decade. More than 100,000 Vega Colony citizens were returned from the collective. Many had their care and support provided by volunteers with resource support from the Vega Survivors Fund. For some, their recovery was easier than others. Lukas passed out of conservatorship in 2423 and joined Vega United. Recovery is an ongoing process, but Vega United provides emotional and psychological support ongoing.
Lukas, like most of the former Borg inhabitants of the new Vega Colony, benefited from the Genetic Therapy provided by Starfleet in 2431-2432. The nanite therapy returned him to fully human physiology and inspired him to leave Vega for the first time since regaining individuality. He chose to visit Earth, and then spent three months on Risa.
Lukas came home from Risa with an invigorated lease on life having found love. He obtained a GOTI LF-2430 light freighter, and named it the SS Draganov. Maintaining contact, Lukas and Kira were married before the year was out. She left Starfleet and came to Vega to make a life together. They had a daughter they named Drusilla, who was accepted to Starfleet Academy in 2449.

History[]
The Draganov family had been part of a migration from Earth in the century following the founding of the colony on Vega. They, as Russian Romani, found a home with kindred spirits in East Gideon. In the generations since, the Draganov family had found themselves welcomed not only by the Romani of the area, but welcomed into the LDS Church as well, intermarrying with the Mormon population. Lukas, his new wife and daughter are also members of the church, even though on Vega the adherents do not follow every mandate as once was the case before the Borg Collective invasion of 2409. Thiers has become a sect that maintains beliefs and scripture, but less of the traditional aspects of the religion. Their social structure no longer holds the church elders in the highest positions, instead elected representatives have taken their place in speaking for the people. Of the population of New Gideon, only 15% self identify as members of the LDS Church.
