Kira Su Draganov, formerly known as Kira Su Daniels

Captain Dragonov of the Vega Transport Union is a civilian pilot operating primarily in the Vega Star System. She commands and pilots the SS Draganov, based out of the Badi Transfer Station III in orbit of Vega IX, as owner operator with her husband Lukas Draganov. She serves as a reserve VDF officer, maintaining her previous Starfleet rank. Prior to marriage in 2432 she was known as Kira Su Daniels an officer in Starfleet.

Kira Su Daniels, Lieutenant Commander Starfleet, was a Tactical officer and former Attack Fighter and Test Pilot. Records indicate she was a pilot of significant skill and tactical prowess, she had been subject to a number of disciplinary actions which had caused a lack of upward mobility in her career. She is known in certain circles and recorded in Starfleet records as using the callsign "Sparks".

She had been transferred to the LMC Operations of the USS Protector, to act as executive officer of the Air Group flight operations in the last year of the war. When the protector returned to the LMC after the war, Kira was serving in the role of the Commander of the Air Group.

Biography[]

Kira was born in San Francisco to a mixed Vulcan/Human couple. Her father, Jacob Daniels was a design engineer for the San Francisco Fleet yards. Her mother T'Lon of Vulcan, disappeared in 2387, was thought to be a volunteer aid worker caught in the Romulan Supernova. No records of this exist however.

Kira was raised mostly in San Francisco alongside UFP and Starfleet families. Kira was raised human, with little input to her Vulcan side. She appears human to most, but for mildly pointed ears, and considering her boisterous personality some would not believe her to be any part Vulcan. When her mother left home, she was sent to boarding school in Philadelphia.

Kira had made her intent to apply to the Starfleet Academy early in life. She lobbied dozens of officials and put in the work to get sponsored. While attending the Academy, she was not extremely high in the academic standings, but she did stand out due to natural tactical understanding and leadership ability. Then during her junior year, she won a prestigious flying competition. Upon graduation she was placed as a pilot with the USS Arcadia.

While in boarding school, Kira had made acquaintance with a young man, Edward McNale, and made it known through proper channels that she was engaged to be married to him after he completed enlisted training. The two of them were both assigned to the USS Arcadia a Steamrunner Class border patrol frigate.

In late 2394, less than a year after her Graduation from the Academy, Kira and Edward both were involved in an incident, a result of a classified mission, that further resulted in catastrophic injury to the young Ensign, and fatal consequences for Edward and the rest of their team. Kira was removed from duty for 11 months to recover, but it is questionable if she has ever actually recovered.

At Graduation, it was expected that Kira would have a meteoric rise through the ranks, and one of her instructors had even predicted she would be Captain of her own ship within a decade. While she had eventually attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander, a disciplinary action had reduced her to the rank of Lieutenant JG in 2421.

Since being transferred to the USS Cambridge - NCC-65111 an Akira class heavy cruiser, she had a prosaic career. Only after being given the responsibility as XO of the Air Group of the USS Protector was she able to shine and prove that she had in fact been worth keeping.

In the years after the War, Kira served faithfully in the missions assigned by Starfleet. During a holiday leave at the dawn of 2432, she took her leave with long time friends on Earth. It was there she met a friend of her hosts also visiting, Lukas Draganov. Lukas had been living and working in New Gideon on Vega IX.

In mid 2432, Kira retired from Starfleet to marry Lukas Draganov and work with his family in the Vega System. Their daughter Drusilla was born later in 2432 and would raised in the Vega System
