The Holographic Nurse Assistant was a tool produced by Holographic Solutions Incorporated to fill gaps in access to medical care caused by an increased need for medical workers at a time when fewer trained medical personnel than ever[1] are available. A simple holographic basically skilled worker, they can fulfill a necessary niche in today's hospitals.
Specifications[]
Specialized in specific as an extension of the medical team, the Nurse Assistant is a vital part of any medical team. In this case, the HNA are competent and tireless assistance with skillsets that not only compliment a team leader and allow for some autonomy in their operations.
All HNA are equipped with internal charting algorithms that will consistently maintain records of their patients that will automatically flag the need for assistance from a nurse, specialist, or a physical medical administrator. Communication is not limited to verbal as alerts can be sent through the computer linkage. When the patient file is updated in real time, additional resources can be brought to bear as needed based on preset parameters. Additional recourses such as a HMS, and HPN may be summoned to assist at a digital thought and team leaders alerted.
HNA holographic matrices are constructed as such as to use as little as 1/50th the resources of an EMH.IX. While some may consider the reduced skillset a detriment, the resources a fully detailed program like an EMH.IX may require can be daunting and are beyond the means of some colony worlds, research bases, and most refugee centers[2].
Relevant factors exist not only of computer and power resources but of relative cost may also be a driving factor in choices made for Holographic Aid usage. HSI can provide a purchase license per a single service matrix which will grant the End User perpetual use and full autonomy to make adjustments up to the maximum[A] capacity, or a user license that allows for an entire suite of matrices to be available and payment is on a use basis per contract license period.[B][C].
Skillsets[]
All of the HNA are programmed with same standard skillset pallet at a 'basic skill level', and capacity for modular switch out of language sets if requested.
- Language: Federation Standard
- Language: Local Specific
- Language: Medical Reference
- First Aid/Trauma Mitigation
- Alertness
- Basic Medical knowledge
- Communication
- Empathy
- Transport Protocols
Legality[]
The Holographic Aid is not considered sentient at deployment, although they do have the capability to become sentient with extended use. As such, standard deployment includes an automatic restart every 14 days to reset, and reload pertinent data. UFP sentience guidelines are to be followed as it becomes necessary, with potential for recognition legally and rights bestowed. (Pending)
