Lady Hedwik Von Schwarzweld, Daughter of Starnzadmiral Reila and Ambassador Veeri Relidia, is a child of the post-Dawnbreaker War era, having been born in the closing months of the war. Her youth ws during a period of rebuilding and relative peace seen by the Kzari for the first time in two million years, and, coupled with her unusual heritage, the young noble started soaking in the ideals of peace, unity and compassion, the first of a new generation of Kzari. Wanting to serve without the special treatment that would come with being a noblewoman and the daughter of a renowned Kzari war hero and admiral, she took advantage of her dual citizenship, signing up with Starfleet.
Early Life[]
Born in 2429 to StarznKaptain Reila, scion of storied Kzari noble house Von Schwarzweld, and Starfleet Lieutenant Commander Veeri Relidia, Hedwik grew up as a child of two cultures. Her Kzari family taught her self-reliance, honor and duty, while her Trill mother encouraged her artistic side and independent thinking. Her childhood was a carefree one, with top-tier education provided to her as a member of the elite, and free time to pursue her interests - music, equestrianism and fencing. A brief period of turmoil cast a shadow on all of that, however, when the Chancellor was killed in an accident, and Kzari society found itself in crisis, distancing itself from its Dawn Alliance allies.
Her Trill mother, already Federation Ambassador to the Kzari, sent Hedwik to the Citadel during the crisis, the young hybrid spending a year around various cultures and species, strengthening her fascination with them and instilling the belief the Kzari should be part of the wider galaxy and the Alliance.
After the crisis was over and Hedwik returned to Kzar, her life and schooling returned to normal, until she became of age to join the JungKorps, the Kzari corps training future officers combined with regular schooling. Hedwik showed her promise, excelling in combat and physical disciplines, quickly rising to the top of the class. Something gnawed at her, however. She was "The Contessa", a noble, heir of an Admiral, and even the rigid and strict instructors seemed to hold some respect for the title, much to her chagrin.
When she became of age, and her schooling and JungKorps preparation done, Hedwik made the decision to sign up with Starfleet instead and follow in Ambassador Relidia's footsteps by serving an entity that does not care about her heritage and would treat her like another cog in the machine, letting Hedwik herself make a name. Considering the prowess shown in combat simulations, Hedwik ended up sent to the academy on Magna Roma, where a new chapter of her life began.
