Character Biography[]
Ezri Ali Tegan was a female Trill born to Joran and Lenara Tegan in the capital city of Leran Manev on the planet Trillius Prime. From an early age Ezri showed exceptional intelligence and creativity. She excelled acedemically and was entered into the initiate program run by the Symbiosis Evaluation Board. Given her record Ezri was considered one of the leading candidates until the death of her mother from Korvan's syndrome. After this life altering event Ezri's behavior became more erratic and she was eventually cut from the program. Afterwards she left Trillius Prime and joined Starfleet.
Appearance[]
While attractive for a Trill, Ezri is by most accounts tather ordinary in appearance. This fact has often allowed Ezri to go unknoticed in crowds.
Family History[]
Ezri was born into a rather prestigious family on Trill. Her father, Joran, owned and operated a very successful import/export company with contracts throughout Federations space. Her mother was a very popular politician on Trillius Prime and later in her career served as that world's representative on the Federation counsel. A position she served in up until her illness forced her to resign, just months before her death in 2406 when Ezri was age 17.
Pre-Starfleet Schooling (2389-2406)[]
From a young age Ezri displayed a phenomenal intellect, showing great aptitude in her academic pursuits. She especially excelled in the subjects of science, math, and music. Her intellect allowed her to not only easily excel in school, but she managed to from her graduate secondary education institution early and enroll in the Trill Science Ministry, where she received a degree in theoretical physics. Largely at the urging of her father, Ezri joined the initiate program run by the Symbiosis Evaluation Board. She joined at an unusually young age and based on her record she appeared to be one of the top candidates for joining. This was of course unitl the death of her mother, after which Ezri quickly washed out of the program.
Starfleet Academy (2407-2409*)[]
Shortly after failing out of the initiate program Ezri applied to Starfleet and was quickly accepted. From the beginning she excelled academically and was quickly noticed for her exceptional intellectual ability. She was soon offered a position with Project Diapason. Diapason was claimed to be a multidisciplinary science and engineering internship program. But, in reality it was a front for Project Salvation recruitment. After accepting the invitation to the program and passing and entrance evaluation, Ezri was moved from regular academy training to a special Diapason training program. The evaluation included a medical and psychiatric exam by Doctor Amanda Hathaway and an entrance interview by Lieutenant Commander Elizabeth Rendino. It was while in this new training program that Ezri met Patricia Black and Edward Hesser. The three shared a common bond of being genius level intellects and soon became friends.
*Official Starfleet records state Ezri attended the academy from 2412-2416 and graduated in the spring of 2416.
USS Tigershark NCC-92961 (2410-???)[]
It was not long before Ezri found herself serving as a junior science officer aboard the USS Tigershark. It was during her time on the Tigershark when Ezri began being mentored by the vessel's commanding officer Lieutenant Commander Elizabeth Rendino. It was also during this time that the Tigershark undertook many covert missions. These missions involved battling the growing Undine threat and secret strikes against Klingon targets during the ongoing Klingon-Federation war. It was during these missions in Klingon space that Ezri learned of the existence of time crystals on the Klingon monastery world of Boreth. It was also during this time she learned that a cure for Korvan's syndrome, the disease that took her mother's life, had been discovered.
The Lost Years (2411-2415)[]
Utopia Planetia Shipyards (2416-2418)[]
Immediately following her officially recorded Starfleet Academy graduation in 2416 Ensign Ezri Tegan was assigned as a junior engineer at Utopia Planetia Shipyards. Details of events during these years are very limited.
USS Ayanami NCC-92777 (2418-2419)[]
During this time Ensign Ezri Tegan was assigned to the USS Ayanami as a junior engineer. in early 2419 she was promoted to lieutenant. Later that same year she was disciplined for conducting unauthorized experiments using Starfleet equipment resulting in damage to the ship's EPS systems. She was demoted back to ensign and abruptly transferred off the Ayanami.
USS Tycho NCC-92103 (2419-2421)[]
Ensign Ezri Tegan was tranferred to the USS Tycho as a junior science officer.
