CLASS DESCRIPTION[]
The Earhart is classified as a Strike Wing Escort, meaning the ship is designed to field one full squadron of fighters in addition to its normal shuttle complement. The Earhart is normally deployed in situations that may involve rapid response or a larger show of force than a single ship, without the need for a cruiser or an entire task force. The Earhart was also designed to employ several new technologies such as the Subatomic Field Disruptor and Cascading Gravimetric Disruptions console, although these devices are still considered experimental.

Engle class[]
Technically the first class of this general hull configuration, the Engle class primarily operated in the 2250s. The most famous example of the class was the U.S.S. T'Plana-Hath, among the many ships lost at the Battle of the Binary Stars.
Merriweather Class'[]
