The Delancey Foundation Investments Group, is a pooled investment fund, comprised of an amalgamated concern of multiple smaller organizations with responsibility to investing stockholders, the DFIG Stockholders Union, and the common Board of Directors. The DFIG limits investments and expenditures to maintain liquidity demands and to benefit affiliates and chosen charitable organizations.

The DFIG was established originally in 1996 to administer the investment of the assets of the Delancey Trust and the DeLancey Foundation for the Preservation of Music and the Arts, which was created through the disposition of the estate of Ann Gale, and managed by Nicholas Erris ESQ. Ann Gale had been a musician and songwriter in the 1960s, and her popularity resulting in a rapid increase in the fund through donations to her foundation in her memory.

DFIG administration was solely the responsibility of the Erris, James & Ford, Attorneys at Law, which successfully managed the investments to provide for the Foundation's needs while multiplying its assets and holdings exponentially 56 years.

During the dark period following WWIII, the DFIG existed in name only, with none at the helm until nearly thirty years later when the legacy of Ann Gale was championed by her heir William Delancey. In 2380 was hired Barrister Simon Smythe to represent the family in the reconstitution of the Foundation and DFIG holdings, bringing both back under family control.

In 2095, the DFIG was once again put under the control of a Board of Directors, including seats for the major subsidiaries and affiliates of the Fund. Companies and unions which made up the majority of the Group's investments were given more of a voice in management of the greater whole.

In 2102, as the needs of the Delancey Family, Fund and Foundation required additional management while the family began preparations and training as colonists, William Delancey and Simon Smythe, BL. reconstituted the law offices which would become known as the Eruditus Group. As a result of their desire to move as a clan to the Vega system, the Delancey Trust was put into the hands of the Eruditus Group who would represent the family interests on DFIG board until such time as relieved.

In 2136, communications with the new director Eoin Cole Delancey pushed for an expansion of resource claims and mining beyond Earth and Vega systems. In order to handle the increased flow of information, the board was expanded to include representatives of the different unions which represented the workers employed in their industry for the DFIG. Prospect claims and income from industry proved well worth the investment in additional personnel and effort.

In 2160, the fall out from the Earth-Romulan War left the board and managers of the DFIG picking up pieces that would take decades to sort out. A full board vote resulted in the ultimate change in the form the DFIG would take for centuries to come. The DFIG would no longer initiate or manage business, but invest in them. Previous to 2080, it had focused on investment in projects and aquisition of mineral rights. When reconstituted legally it began investing in infrastructure to exploit those mineral rights, and expanding both.

2160-2409, with this new direction, infrastructure development would be limited to needed operations and investment would be in start up or reconfigured industry concerns being developed by others. Mining rights would be leased to others, who the DFIG or their new affiliates would support through material or financial means, for a percentage of the company and profits. The new business plan saw growth not only of their bottom line, but in industry across Sol and Vega for whom the DFIG was most invested. Affiliates are not only provided with membership in the DFIG Stockholders Union, but when of a significant importance affiliates are invited to elect a representative to join the DFIG Board of Directors. In this way, the DFIG invests in people, who invest in each other.

In 2409, the Borg Collective invaded the Vega system, killing or capturing millions, destroying Vega Colony, and a large percentage of the assets of DFIG affiliates. Among the casualties were all known members of the Delancey family. Only after extensive searching was a single heir to the Delancey Trust found. In the years since, the heir Dahlia Delancey, has taken a more active role, though is represented in the day to day operations still by the Eruditus Group on the board.

Official corporate offices of the DFIG are located at DFIG Titan, Christopher's Landing, Titan.
