Biography[]
Clarence Mikael "Mick" McNale, was born in Philadelphia to Irish-American parents. He stood 1.8m tall, with a full beard and reddish brown hair fading into salt and pepper grey that turned white in the 2430s. Yet he still stands a strong individual with hands that have seen labors and a weathered face of someone who refuses to be idle despite nearly 110 years of age.
Mick moved abroad after Prep School to gain a degree in Music History in Birmingham, UK. There as he was studying for his graduate degree he met and fell in love with his soon to be wife, "Rena". Mick moved back to Philadelphia, to work with his father Cillian McNale who held a position of Director of acquisitions with the Delancey Foundation.
Rena Morgan, a music historian and violinist, came to Philadelphia to join Mick two years later. She took work with the foundation as well. They were married the following summer and the Dean of Philadelphia University gifted Mick his second Masters Degree Certificate in a silver frame as a wedding present. After less than a year of marriage, their only child Edward was born. Mick would work as a preservationist, later Chief Preservationist, for 20 years as they raised their son daily in the halls of the Conservatory.
Mick & Rena dreamed of Edward joining them in what they both felt was very important work for the future of humanity, but Edward would choose differently. Edward fell in love while attending Prep school, with a girl from San Francisco who planned to go to Starfleet Academy when the session was over. Their son did not do well enough in school to be accepted to the Academy, but chose to enlist. Mick approved of the girl, but not the career. Edward left home against advise to go enlist.
Unfortunately, seeing their son leave home was not the worst for them. A month later, Director Cillian McNale passed away. Four years later they lost Rena's father, Mick's mother, and their son Edward. Mick sadly lost his wife Rena in 2444, and finally retired in 2452 though he still volunteers at the conservatory as a docent in spite of his well advanced years.
Mick & Rena had for all intents adopted in every way but legally the last surviving member of the DeLancey family in 2410. While she was still a teenager, but legally an adult, there was never any need for a legal adoption. They were very pleased as time went on to be able to continue to be as family, and overjoyed when the children of Ms. DeLancey considered them grandparents. Rena was quite clear of her joy at being part of the extended family when Ms. DeLancey married and even more so at the children. It is a bittersweet joy due to the loss of their own son without issue. Mick is known to be a good grandfather to the children, and as of this writing still attempting to recruit both into the work at the Foundation.
