Ceres Type (Shuttle)[]

The Ceres Type Shuttle is a type of Personnel Transport Shuttle utilized by the Earth Cargo Service. In service during the 25th century. They are operated by private pilots under license from either the Merchant Marine Service or the Earth Cargo Authority. They are often marked with an additional civilian organization flag and transponder code.

Background information[]

The Ceres Type is a civilian design performing functions similar to the Starfleet Type 11 design of the late 24th Century. Designers working out of the Titan DFIG facility produced the design to fill a need in the civilian market for rapid intersystem transit and to carryout personnel and light cargo missions as part of regular operations, as well as survey and SAR mission. This product is produced exclusively at the Titan Ship Yards facility under contract to DFIG for private contracted construction. The majority are registered only as sub-registry to carrier ships, or facilities primarily for DFIG or business partners. A few have been registered independently.

SPECIFICATIONS[]

  • Best in class Sensor Palette sensitivity, specifically tuned for both SAR and Survey missions.
  • Basic defense grade weapon package (see below)
  • Advanced Metaphasic Shielding, technology developed by UFP and Allies licensed for use by the DFIG.
  • Starship Grade Tractor beam systems to support SAR role.
  • Improved warp and subluminal speed capabilities

Cargo Capabilities:[]

Up to four Module Sections available to be installed at once:

  • Cargo Module - A shell for cargo (can be fully enclosed to be delivered intact)
  • 2 Bunk Module
  • Complete Refresher Module
  • Expanded Galley Module
  • Science Module - Configurable for specifics
  • Advanced Medical Support Module - Supporting Medical Care, O.R. Bio-bed, medical replicator and Holo-Emitters
  • Passenger Transport Module - Seating and supplementary life support system for additional passengers.
  • Variable Custom modules may be designed for individual customers
Deck Layout:[]
  • A single hull design, intended for space operations and planetfall even in heavy gravity locations. Helm Control is near the front, forward facing. Windows for the control cabin are forward and to both sides just above the main sensor palette. The single phaser strip is just forward of the sensor palette.
  • To the rear of the control cabin is a modular deck design. The purpose of using the type 11 frame as a basis was to allow for the use of Type 11 standard modular sections. Four module positions are accessed from below for replacement as with the Type 11 shuttlecraft
  • A mess table and chairs variable, from collapsible fold away to solid mounted to the deck positions. Lighting is standard and central, fully configurable. The rear of the craft is used for the main entrance/exit through a full airlock with stowage for two EV suits.
  • As one of the design features of this class is for SAR use, it retains the dorsal magnetic clamps and access hatchways both dorsal and ventral amidships. The access ladder folds away into the roof.
