The Battle of Starbase 39 was a confrontation between Romulan attack forces and Federation defense forces at Starbase 39-Sierra in November of 2412. Federation forces considered of ships from the 22nd Mobile Daedalus, the 7th Fleet, the 3rd Fleet and the 17th Fleet. Some notable ships in the engagement were the USS Ayanami under Captain Nyoko Honda, and the USS Giselle under Captain Talia. Captain Devon Scott, of the 7th Fleet, also participated; he would become Captain of the USS Independence-A two years later.
The Federation forces won and successfully repelled the attack, but the USS Giselle was destroyed. Captain Talia would later be given command of the USS Adagio.
