The Vega Starbase, named Badi Transfer Station III or BTS3 was assembled in orbit of Vega IX over nearly a decade and went on line August 14, 2430, Earth Date, when the core systems were installed. The construction was still under way for eight years before considered final. The original station consisted of a crew ring, a docking ring, reactor assembly, consumables storage and reprocessing tanks. Over the next decade, additional sections were added to include the internal and external hangars, multiple refineries, extended quartering and resource storage.
BTS3 serves as a waypoint for docking of ships in orbit of Vega IX, geosynchronous orbit over the growing city of New Gideon. It serves as a trade hub and warehousing station. The area in spin orbit of the station contains dozens of smaller structures which draw power from the station, of these are starship maintenance and construction docks, storage facilities and starship mooring.
